The Cavs welcome the Boston Celtics to the banks of the Cuyahoga River for a low key important Eastern Conference battle. The good guys are trying to the right the ship after two losses and some disgustingly mediocre ball over the last ten games. The Celtics are very much in the same situation. Not helping the Cavs will be the absences of Jarrett Allen for at least a week, Larry Nance Jr. for an extended period of time, as well as Craig Porter Jr., Sam Merrill, and Lonzo Ball. Neemias Queta and Derrick White are key injuries for the Celtics along with Jayson Tatum.
Tip off is scheduled for 6:00 PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted live on Fanduel Sports Network, Go Cavs!

On rewatch so many guys are out of shape and / or protecting themselves.
If I’m Kenny I have tough calls. You don’t have enough bodies to sit the guys who you need to sit to send a message to. (Porter and Tyson are great but they are also just getting back from sitting a bunch).

It’s not getting solved until Allen and Sam are back. We have no good catch and shoot finishers, weak rim protection and no one who attacks or finishes in the paint.
We suck on the intangibles but every part of the way the team can win under Kenny normally is compromised.

It’s a different issue every week (and will be if the lineups keep changing-players need stability in their roles).

NOMAD/Lou – I’m not bothered so much by the overall record at this point especially given the number of core rotation games missed so far. I think lacking Strus has made a difference. But I agree, the fact that the biggest problem is the “same” problem they have every year means you can’t just assume it’ll get better by April.

it’s just a leaky boat. Every part of the rotation and every role is compromised by injuries. It doesn’t excuse the effort in a winnable game, but it’s a house of cards unless Mitchell is really good – and these were fine games from DG and Mobley. The problem being rebounding and matching up with physical teams.
We can shoot and out hustle physical teams out of the game with the full complement of guys. Our best game was against Detroit

A loss at home to this Celtics squad playing the second of a back to back with a couple starters out is a tad disheartening. Going from East’s 1 seed to a mediocre, uninspired basketball team while leaning on its only “November” talk seems disingenuous. The team is flawed and sure some nights you can mask things with better shooting and few more fortuitous bounces but when you continue to get punked in the toughness categories, mainly rebounding, those things don’t get fixed unless personnel changes…
Exactly,,,,,you can be an “it’s only November team” if you’ve won a championship.If not you’re just not getting it done.
Not watching this except through Gamecast. Not often do you see two +/- outliers THAT massive in a game that’s not a blowout and where everyone else’s is positive or slightly negative. Whoa. Glad it’s still November.
