2025-12-05The Cavs welcome the San Antonio Spurs to the frozen banks of the Cuyahoga River for a classic measuring stick game for the good guys. The Cavs have been taking sandbagging to new heights by treading the waters of mediocrity through the dog days of the regular season, 5-5 over the last 10 games. They also have nearly half the roster out presumably being overly cautious with some key guys to ensure they will be completely healthy and ready to contribute when the chase for the playoffs ramps up post-All-Star break. This has given the back end of the roster ample time to make their case for more minutes, and a few guys have delivered; namely, Jaylon Tyson, Nae’Qwan Tomlin, Tyrese Proctor, and Craig Porter, Jr. But Cleveland fans are getting antsy, especially given how surprisingly competitive the East has been this season. Is there another gear for the Cavs? The Spurs are a great test to reveal such a mystery…
Tip off is scheduled for 7:30PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted live on Fanduel Sports Network Ohio, Go Cavs!

How does Tyson compare to those drafted around his spot? Looks like they really nailed that pick.
Taking a quick look at the rest of that first round, the one interesting comparable is Kyshawn George. Nice numbers, but the Wizards have been such a horrible team the last two years, hard to judge what the stats mean. Also interesting to see that Tyson’s father and two brothers played college football, and one of those brothers is in the NFL. I think that may explain something about where his junkyard dawgness comes from. Glad he’s on the Cavs!

Also think you might consider sitting DG for a few more weeks. Mitchell / Merrill / Tyson / Mobley / Allen with Hunter, Ball, Tomlin, Wade, Bryant and Porter is fine for December, then work him and Max and Larry back in together in January where there are no back to backs.
