You Can Go Your Own Way

Two friends I loved like a brother and sister got divorced last year. Last night someone who’d just found out about it texted me wondering what happened. “Things Fall Apart,” I said, with a nod to Keats and Achebe. The simple answer is the easiest, but behind every decision to walk away, there’s a story. We rarely know all of anyone’s story but our own, and we’re often not self aware enough to even know that. In Kyrie Irving’s case, there’s far more we don’t know than what we do. So we speculate, and as the jilted ones, probably do so bitterly.

Summer Musings

Welcome to Indian summer. As the temperature climbs back up into the 80s, the Tribe’s win total climbs into the 90s. They’re heading west with an off day on Monday, though, so it’s a good time to reflect on the bizarre summer we just witnessed… First up, Kyrie Irving’s strange appearance on ESPN’s First take. Irving mused on his his time in Cleveland his reasons for leaving, but mostly spent his time talking a lot without saying anything.

Summer League Recap: Cavs 91, Dubs 74 (or, Best of Nine?)

Tuesday night, I chilled with NOMAD on CtB and watched the summer Cavs own the summer Warriors 91-74.  The score is misleading, the Warriors were never in this game. Cavs are undefeated for the summer and were able to completely dominate two out of the three victories.  Here are a few observations.
